Meet The Author at HMP Barlinnie

I was honoured to have been asked to give a talk at Barlinnie Prison. I'd never been to a prison before (honest!) and didn't know what to expect. I had a tour of the different blocks before giving a presentation to the prisoners and guards on my career, my writing and Georgian history and culture. It was one of the best author's events I've done. Very respectfully received with some great questions and comments from the audience. It gave me a much better understanding of what prisons set out to do and a much greater respect for the people who work there.
